Date of the incident: 08-09-2012
At around four o’clock on Saturday, 08-09-2012, a MIG23 airplane threw several barrels on one of the buildings in Al-Halwaneyeh roundabout in Tareeq El Bab neighbourhood. This was following the penetration of the sound wall a few times, the rocket caused the complete destruction of three floors of a building with residents inside.

Due to this explosion, 30 people have been killed, all of whom were civilians, and there were bodies which have been completely torn apart. Many parents have refused to give us any more information or to deal with us due to their great shock. In addition to this, there were at least 50 injured people, a large number of them were civilians from the same
neighbourhood and became injured as a result of the shrapnel’s which scattered from the building.

After nearly half an hour the MIG23 airplanes resumed its flight over Al Shaar neighbourhood where it launched a rocket on Sad El Wez street in Al Shaar neighbourhood, over a distance of approx 700 meters from the building in which the first massacre took place. This caused the destruction of multiple floors in four other buildings in addition to cutting
electricity cables which came in contact with each other, and led to the eruption of many fires.
13 people died, and no less than 25 people were injured due to the shrapnel’s, a number of them were martyred after they reached the field hospital due to the seriousness of their injury. A small number of the victims were removed from under the rubble after losing their lives
The total number of martyrs on this day in Aleppo was 43 civilians. After reaching the field hospital which was crowded with injured people, we managed through our contact with the
martyrs families and witnesses to recognise 22 of them, we also found bodies which were completely mutilated and therefore unrecognizable

We, The Syrian Network of Human rights, seek to protect and defend human rights. We explicitly condemn this horrific massacre which is openly classified as a crime against Human Rights, along with the remaining massacres against the Syrian people – all of which have been committed by Assad forces. We hold the Syrian regime, the Commander in Chief of the Armed forces full and direct responsibility of the massacre. In addition to this, we also hold Russia, Iran and Hizbullah direct responsibility of the killing as they continue to provide the Syrian regime with weapons and money. We call for the United Nations and Security Council to take immediate action and speed to protect the Syrian people and to live up to their responsibilities. We urge them to accelerate their steps in referring all those involved in this massacre to the International Criminal Court.
