The Story of the Activist, Alaa Umar Jumaa’s story

Assad’s regime kills media activists to conceal the truth; Latakia media activist, Alaa Umar Jumaa

They hate truth; therefore, they kill and shed the blood of the Syrian people.

Alaa Jumaa is 23 years old young man from the village of Istirba in which streets the most beautiful protests in the neighbourhood of Ar-Raml al-Janoubi marched. He sent documentations, videos, of these protests to media outlets spreading the name of his coastal city in the whole world that finally heard of this great city that has been obscured during the reign of Assad’s family.

When Assad’s regime army raided the area, Alaa videographed the most important scenes of gunfire, shelling, the wounded, tanks raids in Ar-Raml al-Janoubi neighbourhood.

When the regime seized control of his sea pearl, his city, he fled unwillingly to the Turkish lands. However, he carried out his activities. Even though he is over the borders, he videographed the regime’s army violations including the helicopter bombardment on Izzaz city in Rural Aleppo. He videographed, as well, shelling on Kalas camp where the Syrian refugees are staying in addition to their continual suffering.

Before his killing, he said that he is going to his dear homeland resolving that he is going to be a martyr. He was killed with a mortar shell, fired indiscriminately by the regime’s army, together with two other friends; Ghassan Hajjou and Hani Dahrou in Kansaba region on 04/07/2012.

Alaa has been mourned by his comrades, activist and free men before we mourned him. He mourned Muhammad, Hassan and Sadiq, to mention but a few, and today we mourn him. We miss his voice and comments over the footages. Sometime, he uses his mobile phone camera, other times his personal camera that he keeps at hand, all the time.
Bidding farewell to Alaa Jumaa 05/07/2012
