After Lavrov’s speech, perpetration of massacres escalated on Syria lands (the massacre of Maarat al-Numan in Idleb)
Last night, the Syrian regime’s army forces shelled the city of Maarat al-Numan by many mortar shells, which are inaccurate, which is hard evidence and a clear indicator that the Syrian regime does not discriminate between the killing of a child, a woman or a young man. This reality is on the ground as children and women are killed. The preliminary death toll of the shelling is 13 victims whose body parts were scattered in the streets. In addition, more than 90 people were wounded, 25 of whom suffer from severe and critical injuries. As usual, the Syrian regime has cut off all means of communications and prevented doctors from treating the wounded or transporting them to safer zones where medical care necessities are available. Many houses and shops were damaged, as well.
By contacting relatives and families of the victims, SNHR & DCHRS members were able to confirm 7 names. Some bodies of the victims are completely carbonized.
The confirmed names:
1- Hisham al-Said
2- Hassan al-Said
3- Khaldoun al-Terizi
4- Alaa Milhim
5- Imad al-Asaad
6- Khalid Fawaz al-Barq
7- Qadrou Marash

SNHR & DCHRS strongly condemn this scarcely-matched massacre which amounts to a crime against humanity as well as all the massacres perpetrated by the Syrian regime against the Syrian people round the clock. SNHR & DCHRS hold the Syrian regime and Bashar al-Assad, head of state and Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian regime army, completely and directly responsible for all of those massacres and their implications and consequences. SNHR & DCHRS call on the UN and the UN Security Council to take all necessary measures to protect the Syrian people and to fulfil their legal and moral responsibilities by accelerating the referral of all the individuals who committed these crimes to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
