The Damascus Center for Human Rights Studies documented on Sunday 5/10/2013 Sixty Four (64) victims who were killed in different cities across Syria, most of them fell in Damascus and its suburb, Idlib, and Aleppo. Also the DCHRS documented Four (4) victims who have fallen in previous days.

In September 2013 DCHRS documented 2369 (Two Thousand Three Hundred and Sixty Nine) victims killed in different cities throughout Syria; additionally there were 8 (Eight) documented victims from other nationalities.

The ratio of the number of adult men victims is 81% divided into 40% non-armed civilians, and 41% non-civilian victims (armed opposition and rebels).

As the war endures, violence and systematic human rights abuses continue to be common tactics used by the Syrian government regime’s forces. DCHRS documented in the month of September 2013 a total of 2369 victims who were killed by regime forces and their loyal militias. 60% of those killed were civilians, totaling 1375 victims; the 994 remaining victims, which makes up approximately 40% of those killed, were armed opposition forces.

TORTURE FEARS FOR KURDISH RIGHTS ACTIVIST: JUWAN ABD RAHMAN KHALED

04-10-2013 – Kurdish rights activist Juwan Abd Rahman Khaled has been detained in conditions amounting to enforced disappearance since his arrest on 3 September 2012 by persons believed to be part of Syria’s State Security. There are fears he may have been subjected to torture or other ill-treatment.

03-10-2013 – The Syrian government is unlawfully holding tens of thousands of political detainees solely on the basis of their peaceful activity, Human Rights Watch said today in opening a campaign to cast light on their fate. Many have been held for long periods and tortured.
