Details of the massacre:\u00a0<\/p>\n
At around 3 O\u2019clock this afternoon, the people of KafrOwaid were surprised with a wide disperse of helicopters hovering in the skies of KafrOwaid. These helicopters, in a very surprising and quick manner, began to release barrels consisting of explosive substances which have been used greatly recently due to their low cost price. However, these barrels have the ability to cause great damage and destruction.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Assad planes released 7 barrels; one of which targeted the oven in the village. In an instant, these barrels led to the killing of 10 civilians \u2013 all of the Meghlaj family and one of them is a woman, Dalal Al Eeesa. The 10 victims consist of 4 women. Additionally, a minimum of 120 people have been injured and an approximate number of 20 homes have been destroyed.<\/p>\n

The team of the Syrian Human Rights Network went on to hear the accounts of eyewitnesses through direct contact with them. In doing so, we were able to get hold of the victims\u2019 names. Via skype and the official email address of the network, they sent us the image and videos we requested, as members of the team were unable to reach the town due to what is happening on its grounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We explicitly condemn this horrific massacre which is openly classified as a crime against Human Rights, along with the remaining massacres against the Syrian people \u2013 all of which have been committed by Assad forces. We hold the Syrian regime, the Commander in Chief of the Armed forces full and direct responsibility of the massacre. In addition to this, we also hold Russia, Iran and Hizbullah direct responsibility of the killing as they continue to provide the Syrian regime with weapons and money. We call for the United Nations and Security Council to take immediate action and speed to protect the Syrian people and to live up to their responsibilities.
