{"id":767,"date":"2012-07-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-23T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dchrs.org\/?p=767","title":{"rendered":"Muhammad Jameel Rahmah, Activist and Graffiti Artist of Al-Qaboun, Damascus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jameel has been born in 1995 in al-Qaboun neighborhood in  Damascus. He lives in an ancient small Arabic house facing the neighborhood\u2019s  water tank. Jameel is the breadwinner of his  family, his mother and three sisters who are younger than him. His father had  passed away in 2010, so Jameel had to work to meet the needs of his family.<\/p>\n<p>Just like many free Syrians, he called for freedom, justice  and dignity and participated in all the demonstrations in al-Qaboun neighborhood  in Damascus. He contributed to the revolution by writing sings, and banners  condemning despotism, injustice and corruption, particularly stealing the  wealth of the country. He left his work to be an activist; he totally dedicated  his time, efforts and strength to the revolution against injustice and  aggression.<\/p>\n<p>His participation in an evening protest where he waved the  flag of the revolution<br \/>\n  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BagGj042XTs&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BagGj042XTs&amp;feature=youtu.be<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Having investigated and detected Jameel\u2019s activities and  contributions to the revolution, particularly to the media, Air Force  Intelligence detained him on 22\/07\/2011. He had been detained for 115 days. He  related the different types and methods of torture he was subject to at Air  Force Intelligence detention facilities like electricity shocks and tying him  to a car tyre to torture him let alone psychological torture of humiliation or  threats of liquidation and denying him food and medicine and so and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>All different kinds and methods of barbaric torture Jameel  had been subject to did not quell him. Having took a rest for his body, he  returned back to doing his activities with more energy and vigour. His main  mission because of which he was killed was spraying the walls of the neighborhood  with graffiti calling for justice, freedom and toppling this regime of  dictatorship and slavery. He was a real threat to the Assad\u2019s intelligence  agencies as he was decorating the walls of the neighborhood with the most  amazing graffiti day and night.<\/p>\n<p>These videos show the spray man, Jameel, writing the  slogans: Freedom forever whether you like it or not, Assad; Bashar, You Are  Going to Be Ousted; Syria is Free and many other beautiful graffiti.<br \/>\n  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Id3oU_D52no&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Id3oU_D52no&amp;feature=youtu.be<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the morning of Friday 06\/07\/2012, while he was doing his  usual activities of writing anti-regime graffiti calling for toppling the  regime and for freedom, he was killed with a gunshot by Assad\u2019s security  forces.
