{"id":730,"date":"2012-07-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-14T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dchrs.org\/?p=730","title":{"rendered":"Statement attributable to the Joint Special Envoy for Syria, Kofi Annan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am shocked and appalled by news coming out of the village of Trem-seh,  near Hama, of  intense fighting, significant casualties, and the confirmed use of heavy  weaponry such as artillery, tanks and helicopters.<\/p>\n<p>This is in violation of the Government\u2019s undertaking  to cease the use of heavy weapons in population centres and its commitment to  the six-point plan.<\/p>\n<p>  UNSMIS stands  ready to go in and seek verification of the facts, if and when circumstances  permit. The freedom of movement of the Observers must be respected.<\/p>\n<p>  I condemn these atrocities in the strongest possible  terms.
