His family has no news  from him since this day.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nThirty eight years old, Al Abdullah usually lives with his  family in a village named Al Tha&#8217;lah in the Al Swedah region. He is a known  poet and the author of a number of publications<br \/>\nLINK: <a href=\"http:\/\/deyaalabdalla.maktoobblog.com\">http:\/\/deyaalabdalla.maktoobblog.com<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  He was already detained due to his writings in 1999, only  being released nearly a year later following a general amnesty, without any  judicial procedures having been opened against him.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nOn 29 June 2011, agents of the Political Security, who were  wearing civilian clothes, raided Mr Al Abdullah&#8217;s place of work in Al Tha&#8217;lah  village. They arrested Mr Al Abdullah, taking him to an unknown location. The  authorities refuse to acknowledge his detention or to provide any information  on his fate or whereabouts to his family.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nOn 26 September 2011, Alkarama submitted Mr Al Abdullah&#8217;s  case to the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, calling on  them to urgently intervene with the Syrian authorities to release Al Abdullah  or place him under the protection of the law as quickly as is possible.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nDuring Mr Al Abdullah&#8217;s arrest, the above mentioned agents  did not present any judicial warrant, nor did they give a reason for his  arrest. They also confiscated personal belongings from Mr Al Abdullah&#8217;s office,  including his computer.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nA number of peaceful demonstrations have taken place in Al  Swedah to call for Al Abdullah&#8217;s release as well as the release of thousands of  other people disappeared or detained in the country.<br \/>\nAlkarama fears for Mr Al Abdullah&#8217;s physical and mental  integrity as he is at high risk of torture and ill-treatment during this  disappearance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\nDeyaa Al Abdullah, a known poet and writer, was disappeared  by the Syrian Political Security forces on 29 June 2011.
