should be noted that this massacre preceded another in less than 48 hours. DCHRS issued a statement about the first massacre, and this statement with the previous concluded that the Syrian regime is persistent on targeting civilian, people’s gatherings, residential buildings, and many IDPs housing. In addition the damages leveled up many of those buildings and destroyed the infrastructure of the city.

DCHRS, as a member of the international coalition for the Responsibility to Protect, condemns the killing of tens of children, women, and civilians and demand an investigation to be lunched regarding such atrocious crimes.

Furthermore, DCHRS urges the international community and the U.N. to act upon its responsibilities in regard to protecting civilians and displacement areas from the Syrian regime’s brutality and shelling.

Also, DCHRS demand the appliance of the norm R2P according to what the U.N. passed in 2005 and to bring the individuals responsible for these war crimes and crimes against humanity in Syria to justice. Ensuring that they won’t be granted any form of Impunity.

Damascus Center for Human Right Studies

11/09/2014

Images of Douma Massacre, September 11, 2014

For more information, please contact
Dr. Radwan Ziadeh, Executive director of the Damascus Center for Human Rights Studies.
Phone (571) 205-3590
Email : radwan.ziadeh@gmail.com

Mr. Mojahed Ghadban, Communication Officer.
Telephone (479) 799-8115
Email: info@dchrs.org

DCHRS is an independent, non-governmental organization, established in 2005, located in the Syrian capital of Damascus.
